Reagan’s Flame held off a hard-charging Lamorna for a head victory in a six-furlong turf maiden special weight win Oct. 13 at Aqueduct. The bay filly is the 15th winner from Flameaway’s first crop of runners.
With a pair of stakes winners and over $1.2 million in progeny earnings to date, Flameaway is currently fourth on the First-Crop sire list. His 2024 fee was recently announced at $15,000 S&N.
Reagan’s Flam, in post 9, got away from the gate cleanly and battled with Save Us Melania through a quarter-mile in :22.74. Reagan’s Flame began to pull away in upper stretch and dug in late to get the well-earned victory in 1:10.46 on the firm turf.
The winner sold to her owners Martin Schwartz and David Ingordo for $185,000 at the 2023 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in training. She was bred in Kentucky by Jason Hall, Herschel Martindale and Stephen Mott.
